Today's session was focused on learning more about animation retargeting, the leader pose component, and modular character workflows. Topics included working with skeletons and IK rig animation retargeting.
This evening I spent time importing the Orcs Pack from Bugrimov Maksim. This excellent pack contains 14 modular orcs in armor and a ton of cool animations. I had some trouble getting skeletons to play nice, but I was able to try out the animations on the third person animation blueprint. A ton of hard work went into these very detailed orcs. High resolution 4k texture maps and extremely high quality art make this an amazing value. Shoutout to Bugrimov!
I can't wait to hook these badass monsters up to my AI controller and slay some orcs!
While I only had a short time to spend on the game today, I'm glad I found some high quality enemy assets to use during prototyping. Hopefully work stuff calms down and I can focus more on the game in the next few days.
